The two jobs a tool has to do
Producing the meme involves two separate tasks: inserting new people into the office-concert scene, and finishing the clip for posting with audio and captions. Editing apps handle the finishing well but cannot do the casting. The generators below handle the casting, and every one of them returns a vertical clip you can post right away.
That leaves one real decision: use a purpose-built generator, which is fast and consistent, or do the AI step yourself with a general model and hand-written prompts, which gives you more control but usually costs several paid attempts.
The generators at a glance
Tiny Desk AI (tiny-desk-ai.app) accepts one to three portraits for the lead, the saxophone and the keyboard, and generates the two backing vocalists itself. Roughly 15 seconds at 720p, $9.99 per video, no account needed. Best suited to a cast of one to three.
AI Tiny Desk (aitinydesk.video) accepts one to five portraits for lead, keys, both backing vocals and sax; any seat you skip keeps the original musician. Around 19 seconds, 10 credits starting at $9.99, and it shows a free still preview before payment.
Memelry (memelry.com) covers the same five seats with up to five portraits and delivers a 15-second 720p clip with the original audio for $9.99, no sign-up. It is a broad meme site that adds a fresh trend almost daily.
GoatRap (goatrap.com) is mainly a rap-video site with a tiny desk generator that takes one to five portraits for 1,000 credits, about $9.90. Band members you leave uncast remain goats, which is the gag.
Outstanding MeMe, our own tool, accepts one to five portraits for five seats: lead, both backing vocals, the laughing close-up and the saxophonist. Upload five and the laugh and the reveal go to two additional friends; upload fewer and the people you added fill the gaps. Clips run 14 seconds on Seedance 2.5, and a 480p clip is $9.99 with the Single pack.
Can CapCut make the Outstanding meme?
Only half of it. CapCut trend templates supply the “Outstanding” audio, the cut points and caption styles, yet they cannot cast new people in the band. CapCut users either import an AI clip from somewhere else and polish it, or post the template as a reaction with themselves in a corner of the frame.
Writing prompts for a video model yourself
A general image-to-video model lets you describe the cluttered office desk, the five musicians and the camera moves, then render. You get flexibility at the cost of time: you must build a first frame that contains all five people, keep each face consistent from shot to shot, and recreate the laugh and sax timing through trial and error. Plan on several paid runs.
Chatbots like ChatGPT can describe the meme, draft that prompt or produce a still, but a chat response will not give you a finished band video from your portraits.
Picking a tool quickly
Only one to three people and you want a clip today? A small-cast tool will do. Want a full five where even the laughing close-up and the saxophonist are people you know? Choose a tool that casts five different faces. Just need the audio on footage you already have? CapCut is enough. Want total control and can live with retries? Prompt a general video model.
