About Outstanding MeMe, the Outstanding Meme Maker for Your Friends
Outstanding MeMe is an independent site built around a single format: the Outstanding meme, the AI parody of Charlie Wilson’s “Outstanding” performance at NPR’s Tiny Desk. Upload between one and five portraits, one for each seat you want filled, and you get back a 14-second vertical clip where your friends sit behind the desk, one of them breaks up laughing and another turns out to be the saxophonist. You do not film anything and you do not write a prompt.
What the Outstanding meme is, and where this site fits
The Outstanding meme is a parody format made with AI. People cast new performers, frequently the coaching staff of a team that just lost, in an office-concert scene based on Charlie Wilson's 2023 NPR Tiny Desk set of the Gap Band's "Outstanding", and the clip closes on a laugh and a saxophone reveal. Outstanding MeMe produces exactly that: the people in your portraits become the band in a freshly generated video. What you receive is an AI parody, not an NPR recording.
Is Outstanding MeMe linked to NPR or the musicians?
It is not. We have no relationship of any kind with NPR, the Tiny Desk Concerts series, Charlie Wilson, the Gap Band, or their record labels and management, and none of them have reviewed or endorsed this site. We mention them only so that readers can identify the performance and the song the meme is built on.
How each clip is produced
A clip goes through two stages, and today both run through the provider Kie. In the first stage, OpenAI’s GPT Image 2 image model draws three storyboard stills (the band at the desk, the close-up who laughs and the saxophone solo) using your portraits plus fixed reference frames. In the second stage, ByteDance’s Seedance 2.5 video model brings those stills to life as one 14-second clip, following a reference motion video.
Unless you pick a silent export, the finished clip uses the reference clip's soundtrack. Remember that the output is generated, not copied frame by frame, so resemblance, movement, clothing, instruments and lip sync can change from one run to the next, and hands or fast gestures occasionally look off. Always watch the clip before posting it.
Every clip is 14 seconds, vertical 9:16, at either 480p or 720p, and finished clips are stored in My Creations. The model names belong to their providers as trademarks, and the models we offer may change over time.
The people running the site
A small product team designs the interface, handles billing and support, and writes pages such as this one. Our process for checking claims, dating updates and correcting mistakes is laid out in the Editorial Policy.
Keeping our pages correct
Any claim about the product is compared with the live maker before it is published: which models appear in the selector, which formats and lengths each supports, and how many credits each option uses. When a behaviour is decided by a model provider and not by our own code, we say so on the page. We never publish view counts, speed promises or quality rankings unless we can describe how they were measured, because generated video varies with the portrait, the model version and server load.
Using the maker responsibly
Upload only pictures you have the right to use. Featuring another adult requires their permission, and we never accept photos of minors. Label your posts as AI-generated wherever a platform provides that option, and never present a generated clip as genuine footage of the artist or of anyone else. The full rules are in our Terms of Service.
